White, Maccarone pace Marist past Butler 30-21

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) Mike White passed for a career-best 393 yards with three touchdowns and Mike Maccarone added a trio of long field goals as Marist edged Butler 30-21 on Saturday.

The Red Foxes (2-3, 2-0 Pioneer League) took a 23-20 lead on Maccarone's 45-yarder in the fourth quarter, and iced the win with White's 37-yard TD pass to Juston Christian. Christian finished with eight catches for 181 yards, a career high. White completed 25 of 47 passes and was not intercepted.

Maccarone kicked a career-long 48-yard FG just before halftime for a 20-14 Marist lead. He also hit from 42 yards.

Will Marty guided the Bulldogs (2-4, 0-3) to a 21-20 lead in the third quarter in four plays, finding Danny Cotter for 25 yards and Cord Collier for 60 before Sam Schrader scored from the 1.

Marty completed 23 of 42 passes for 314 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
