When Alabama fans visit LSU, they'll 'need telescopes' to see
These promotional, celebratory, beg-for-booster-money tours by coaches and athletic directors in the offseason are the best.
It's a down time of year in the college football world, which allows for some socializing.
There are a good dinners and things get a little loose, which is good fun for all.
And, of course, good-natured jokes are said that would likely be stifled in more formal settings.
Enter LSU athletic director Joe Alleva.
Tuesday evening he spoke on the final stop of the Tiger Tour and updated LSU fans on the renovation of Tiger Stadium. It will increase capacity to more than 100,000 by expanding the the south end and adding an upper deck. Alleva told LSU fans he already has one part of the new seating chart locked down.
"When Alabama comes, (Tide fans) will be at the top of the new stadium seats," Alleva told Tiger boosters. "They're going to need telescopes to see the game."
We already knew Alleva was interested in improving the stadium experience for LSU fans by possibly adding beer in the future. Who knew part of that plan was stuffing Alabama fans as far away as possible, where the 'Roll Tide' calls drift high into the air without hardly making a sound?
