While many would assume an experienced player fulfilling that role, it was a true freshman making a game-changing play for the Crimson Tide.
Down 7-2 in the second quarter, signal-caller Jake Coker launched a deep pass down the field. While being guarded by two Florida defenders, receiver Calvin Ridley jumped up and made a fantastic 55-yard reception.
Two plays later, running back Derrick Henry punched it in to give Alabama a 9-7 lead.
The Crimson Tide ultimately won the contest by a score of 29-15. Ridley finished with eight grabs for 102 yards.
