Watch DB Jared Mayden commit to Alabama over Oklahoma
Jared Mayden was torn between Alabama and Oklahoma.
A one-time commitment to Oregon, the defensive back has long-standing roots to the Sooners' program. Both of his parents attended college at OU. One would think this could've been a factor in Oklahoma winning out in his recruitment.
However, Nick Saban had other ideas.

The elite corner out of Texas committed to Alabama during a signing day ceremony at his high school on Wednesday morning.
Mayden is a significant pickup for the Crimson Tide. Depth at corner isn't overly great. As such, Mayden may be able to come in right away and make an impact.
From a talent standpoint, the Texas native is a true burner -- possessing sub-4.4 speed in the 40-yard dash. Mayden is also adept at flipping his hips and running in coverage quite well.
With Mayden, Shyheim Carter, Aaron Robinson, and Nigel Knott now in tow, Alabama has absolutely reloaded in the secondary.
