Urban Meyer 'anticipates' using both quarterbacks

Preparing for the defending national champions and the preseason No. 1 team in the country is hard enough, but having to plan for facing two elite quarterbacks will no doubt make the job that much tougher for Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer.

The Hokies, the only team to beat Ohio State last year, will kick off the 2015 season at home on Sept. 7 versus the Buckeyes and there is a good chance that they will have to defend against both Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett.

On Tuesday, Bleacher Report’s Ben Axelrod reported the OSU coach Urban Meyer said he “anticipates” using both quarterbacks this season.

Barrett, a sophomore, started 12 games last season and threw for 2,834 yards and 34 touchdowns, while Jones, a junior, started three games in 2014, including the national championship game, and threw for 860 yards and seven TDs.
