Transfers unite: Coker, Mullaney quickly develop chemistry for Alabama

Alabama lost against Ole Miss last weekend, but they may have found their quarterback for the rest of the season with the play of Jacob Coker down the stretch. As Coker appeared to blossom on the big stage, fellow transfer Richard Mullaney emerged as his favorite target.

Mullaney was targeted 18 times Saturday against Ole Miss, converting seven of those looks into catches and two for touchdowns.

"Me and Jake have a really good relationship on and off the field," Mullaney said according to AL.com. "I was there to be a security blanket, hopefully get his confidence up as we go throughout the game."

Mullaney would not denied on his first touchdown, as the receiver leapt over Rebel defensive back Kendarius Webster. His second touchdown closed the Ole Miss gap to six before Ole Miss sealed the game with a late interception.

Despite the level of receiving talent on the Crimson Tide's roster, it appears the unheralded Mullaney may very well be the team's best receiver this season.
