Tennessee-Virginia Tech at Bristol speedway starts at night

Updated Mar. 5, 2020 12:57 a.m. ET

The game between Tennessee and Virginia Tech to be played for the first time at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 10 will air on ABC's Saturday Night Football and start at 8 p.m. ET.

Organizers for the ''Battle at Bristol'' are hoping the game at the 150,000-seat NASCAR track breaks college football attendance records. The track is about halfway between the two schools located 230 miles apart.

The NCAA-recognized attendance record for college football of 115,109 was set at Michigan Stadium for Michigan-Notre Dame in 2013.
