Richmond's season-ending injuries mount

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:58 p.m. ET

(STATS) - Nationally ranked Richmond has lost two more starters, running back Xavier Goodall and safety David Jones, to likely season-ending injuries.

Both players were injured in the No. 6 Spiders' 36-30, triple-overtime win at Albany this past Saturday.

Coach Danny Rocco said on the CAA Football coaches teleconference Monday that Goodall suffered a torn ACL and won't play again this season. He said Jones suffered a forearm injury and most likely will miss the remainder of the season.

Goodall became the starting running back after Gordon Collins suffered a season-ending hip injury last month.

Jones is a nominee to the STATS FCS Defensive Player of the Year Watch List.
