Report: Missouri has hired Josh Heupel as its offensive coordinator

Published Dec. 17, 2015 12:36 p.m. ET

Via a report from PowerMizzou.com, Missouri has chosen to hire Josh Heupel as its new offensive coordinator.

Heupel had recently been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Utah State. Prior to that, he was a co-offensive coordinator at Oklahoma for four seasons.

The former Oklahoma star signal-caller will be tasked with fixing a unit that finished No. 124 nationally in total offense -- accruing only 280.9 yards of offense per game.

Whilst at Utah State this past year, Heupel's offense averaged 29.7 points per contest. His vast experience coaching quarterbacks should aid in the development of soon-to-be sophomore signal-caller Drew Lock.
