Is Tennessee so cursed players simply committed to join the team in the future can be affected? One could make that argument after the news of Jarrett Guarantano's injury.

A four-star New Jersey quarterback prospect, Guarantano injured his foot Saturday during his latest high school game and is feared lost for the season, according to NJ.com. Guarantano's high school coach, Nunzio Campanile updated his star player's status Monday.

"It's an injury to a ligament in his foot," Campanile said. "It's unfortunate, but that's the nature of the game of football."

Guarantano is rated as one of the top 100 prospects in the nation and is currently the top dual-threat quarterback prospect by 247Sports Composite

"He's been the best player in the state right now, and to have this happen really (stinks)," Campanile said. "He's a good kid, he's worked really hard and he deserves better than that."

Guarantano chose the Volunteers over Ohio State and Rutgers.
