Poll: Strong will be back, but how many wins must he get in 2016?

Charlie Strong will be back for Year 3 in 2016. He's already in the process of overhauling a dysfunctional offense during what will be a long offseason without a bowl game.
Strong is 11-14 in his two seasons at Texas with two losing records -- 6-7 last season and 5-7 this season. He still doesn't have a reliable quarterback. He redshirted only six of 23 freshmen this season, illustrating the youth and inexperience he was dealing with on a daily basis.
Next season, Strong has to show progress. It's always possible to improve as a team, but not show it in the wins department. Strong must do both.
So how many wins -- seven? eight? 10? -- will be good enough for him to keep his job in 2017?
Venerable Austin American-Statesman columnist Kirk Bohls suggested eight wins.
