Penn State announces procedure for Beaver Stadium 'stripe out'

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 5:30 p.m. ET

Penn State football, known for its annual "White Out" game in which fans are all instructed to wear white to give Beaver Stadium a unique aura and appearance, is trying something new this year.

On Sept. 19 when Rutgers travels to State College, the Scarlet Knights will see alternate sections of Penn State fans in blue and white to create a stripe effect throughout the stadium. The department of athletics released details this week so fans will know what to wear based on where they are sitting.

Those can be found at pennstatestripeout.com, where there are also pictures of what they hope the stadium will look liket.

Running back Akeel Lynch provided a sneak preview on Twitter.
