Oklahoma football stadium a bowl in time for Spring Game

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Oklahoma's football stadium has been turned into a bowl in time for the spring game Saturday.
The stadium has never been closed off since opening in 1923. Though there still is work to be done, the frame is in place.
The update was provided Friday during a ''Topping Out'' ceremony. Athletic director Joe Castiglione and coach Bob Stoops attended and spoke with the newly enclosed south end as the backdrop.
The school said the part of the project that includes new loge boxes and concession areas will be finished by the start of the 2016-17 season. Though capacity won't be affected much, Stoops said he expects the stadium to be louder and more attractive.
Other work in the project, including new coaches' offices, a larger strength and conditioning room and locker rooms, are to be completed by the end of February 2017.
