Notre Dame Football: Should Fighting Irish join the ACC?
According to reports, Notre Dame football could soon become a full-time member of the ACC.
Thought its history, Notre Dame has been considered an Independent. There has been no home conference for the Fighting Irish in football, but the basketball program recently joined the ACC as a full-time member. It may seem a bit farfetched, but rumors are circulating about the football program doing the same.
While it may have come from an interesting source, college basketball writer Dick Weiss posted about the rumor, coming from Tim Brando, on Twitter.
Weiss was quickly responded to by Brando, who clarified.
@HoopsWeiss Let's pump the breaks here Hoops! I've stated there have been discussions, informal yes, but it's my strong opinion it's a matter of time.

The FOX Sports analyst stated that informal discussions have already taken place, but he believes it's only a matter of time before Notre Dame officially becomes a member. That's something, right?
Brando mentions ACC broadcasting deals and money as possible motives to get Notre Dame to the conference, but he says the "tea leaves will read well."
Should this be trusted? In my opinion, yes. A national analyst who knows his stuff and who is constantly hearing different things from trusted sources is a good indicator of what's to come. If he says it's a matter of time, then it'd almost be a shame to doubt it.
There have been rumors of this in the past, but it seems to be picking up steam. Nowadays, the NCAA is a major business and if there's more money for a specific program if they join a certain conference, they're going to do it. We might see Brian Kelly coaching against Dabo Swinney and Jimbo Fisher fairly soon.
Buckle up, ACC folks.
