For the sixth consecutive year, Alabama has signed the nation's top signing class, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. The Tide also ranked as the No. 1 recruiting class this year by both Rivals and Scout. The Crimson Tide closed incredibly strong, gaining commitments from several players on National Signing Day to gain ground on the teams ranked ahead of them heading into the biggest day of the recruiting calendar.

During the much anticipated signing day, the Tide closed strong after landing commits from linebacker Mack Wilson, linebacker Ben Davis, athlete Trevon Diggs, defensive back Jared Mayden and defensive lineman Terrell Hall.

In total, the Crimson Tide signed 24 prospects, three of which are ranked as five-star prospects and 14 of which are rated as four-star prospects, according to 247Sports

While the history of successful recruiting may impress fans and recruiting junkies, head coach Nick Saban did not appear too eager to celebrate the accomplishment.

“Perception doesn’t win any games for us around here,” Saban said, “but good players do. Until these guys sort of grow and develop, you really don’t know what kind of class you have. It’s everybody’s guesstimate at this point as to what kind of class we really have. We’re excited about them. We’re pleased with them. But you can’t make predictions about these types of things."
