NFL Analyst Likens Fournette To All-Time Great Running Back

Since the day he stepped on campus in Baton Rouge, everyone knew Leonard Fournette was headed for the National Football League in four years or less. He came to the program as one of the top running back recruits we have ever seen, and the hype surrounding him really could not have been any bigger.
Fournette has had an absolutely fantastic career, and the star tailback is expected to forfeit his final season of eligibility at the end of the current season to head to the NFL. We all know number seven is practically a lock to be chosen in the first-round of the 2017 draft, and he is one of the most solid players at the position to come out of college football in quite some time.
But, one NFL analyst is taking that thought to an entirely different level. Lance Zierlein boldly linked Leonard Fournette to one of the greatest athletes of all time his latest article on NFL.com.
Zierlein says Fournette is the next Bo Jackson.
To justify such a bold statement, he said this on Fournette’s ability as a potential NFL running back:
He uses his brute force as a form of intimidation and as a tool in breaking tackles to churn out more yardage. Fournette runs with powerful leg drive and has become much better at running behind his pads rather than running upright, which he did at times as a freshman in 2014.
No one will ever touch Bo Jackson’s legacy as an athlete. With all he was able to do in TWO professional sports, Bo just will never fall off of his perch. But, when you just compare the two players at the running back position alone, their games are relatively similar.
Leonard Fournette is the best prospect we have seen at the position in awhile, and he deserves many of the comparisons he receives. It may be accurate, but likening Fournette to one of the most well-known players in the history of sports is a bold statement. What do you think? Is the comparison fair?
