A bunch of players made the midseason watchlist for the Ted Hendricks Award, and Penn State's Carl Nassib might have been the biggest no-brainer as a choice.

Nassib, a first-year starter, leads the nation in sacks (1.56 per game) and tackles for loss (2.2). He is No. 2 in forced fumbles (0.63), trailing Maryland defensive back Sean Davis.

Joining him on the list from the Big Ten East are Maryland's Yannick Ngakoue, Indiana's Nick Mangieri, Ohio State's Joey Bosa and Michigan State's Shilique Calhoun.
