Luckily for the Spartans, they’ll be traveling south to Bloomington, Ind., to take on the 2-1 Indiana Hoosiers. This game has some conference title race implications and a loss for either side would be detrimental, but it’s going to be a good matchup, nonetheless.
Weather could play a key factor into how each team’s game plan plays out. If you don’t recall, the Spartans took advantage of heavy rain against Ohio State in Columbus to pull out an upset win.
Could Indiana’s potent passing attack behind JUCO transfer Richard Lagow be stymied by rain? Here’s the weather forecast for East Lansing tomorrow:
Kickoff weather: 59°F, 32% chance of rain, 2 mph NE wind
Weather at game’s end: 58°F, 20% chance of rain, 4 mph NE wind
Rain isn’t guaranteed for the game, but throughout there is a chance of precipitation. The Spartans love to run the ball anyways, so this shouldn’t be an issue.
However, it’s going to be important for the coaching staff to see if Tyler O’Connor has figured some things out in the passing game. If you’re heading to the game, pack an umbrella, just in case.
