Miami Hurricanes National Signing Day: OL Navaughn Donaldson

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:19 p.m. ET

Donaldson is the consensus second highest rated player in Miami’s class of 2017. He is a massive 6.5.5 335. Donaldson could challenge returning starters Tyree St. Louis and Trevor Darling at offensive tackle.

Donaldson is an early enrollee and one of three top 100 recruits with Jeff Thomas and D.J. Johnson. He is likely going to have to lose weight and re-shape his body. Projected as a left tackle that could wind up on the right side.

Donaldson will battle with signee Kai-Leon Herbert in the future at tackle. He is a consensus four star and top 100 prospect. Donaldson played in the Under Armour All-America game with future teammate and top 100 signee Jeff Thomas.

He was selected as a preseason All-American by USA Today. Donaldson played with future Hurricane teammate and fellow early enrollee Waynmon Steed at Miami Central High School.

Donaldson has a ton of upside. If he can control his weight has a chance to be the next great lineman at Miami. Offensive line coach Stacy Searles commented on his literally and figuratively big recruit. Donaldson’s HurricaneSports bio follows.

NAVAUGHN DONALDSON IS A VERY TALENTED AND LARGE HUMAN BEING. HE’S VERY ATHLETIC FOR HIS SIZE, HE HAS PUNCH AND POWER AND HAS PLAYED AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL HERE IN MIAMI. WE’RE EXCITED TO HAVE HIM COME IN AND COMPETE FOR A JOB THIS YEAR.

– STACY SEARELS, OFFENSIVE LINE COACH
