Longhorns rally around kicker after missed PAT: 'It's over with'
It’s said by some that football is all about one play. The Texas Longhorns are living proof of that, after a missed extra point by kicker Nick Rose was the deciding factor in a one-point loss to Cal.
After the game, Rose needed the support of his fellow players and coaches, and got that from head coach Charlie Strong:
Strong: Team has rallied around Nick Rose. Said he stayed at the facility until 1 a.m. Sunday w/ him then called him Sunday morning. #HookEm

The entire blame for the loss can’t be placed on Rose, despite the timing of when his mistake occurred.
Football is a team sport, and you can say that the defense should have stopped one of the Bears’ touchdowns or the offense should have converted one more play to score another touchdown or field goal over the course of the game.
Here’s hoping the team does indeed rally behind Rose, because you never know when he will be needed for another game-tying or winning situation.
