Howard Schnellenberger talks Miami, Oklahoma and why he's not in HOF

Howard Schnellenberger has lived a long life of football.

He recruited Joe Namath to Alabama for Bear Bryant in the 1960s.

He made NFL assistant coaching stops with the Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins (twice) and spent two seasons as the head coach of the Baltimore Colts.

He led the Miami Hurricanes from 1979-83, winning a national championship in the process, won two bowl games at Louisville from '85-94 (including a 34-7 beating of Alabama in the '91 Fiesta Bowl), failed during one season at Oklahoma and then pumped life back into Florida Atlantic’s program from 2001-11.

Many believe Schnellenberger is worthy of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Schnellenberger recently stopped by "The Audible With Bruce Feldman" to discuss why he’s not in the Hall of Fame, what went wrong at Oklahoma, what went right at Miami (and whether he has ever regretted leaving), his successful run at FAU and more.
