Georgia gains pledge from massive 2017 in-state offensive lineman

2017 offensive line prospect Justin Shaffer was feeling the pressure from his family.
A one-time commitment to Louisville, much of Shaffer's family wanted him to stay home and instead attend the University of Georgia. After some deliberation, he decided to cave to this request.

Shaffer flipped his commitment from Louisville to Georgia on Monday. Taking to Twitter, the massive 6-foot-5, 330-pound player spoke about "an opportunity [he] couldn't pass up" when ultimately selecting Georgia for his college choice.
There's plenty to like about Shaffer as a prospect going forward. Powerful and strong, he's excellent when it comes to run blocking. Shaffer also has good lateral mobility -- which enables him to play both as a guard and as a tackle.
Simply put, this is a big pickup for the Bulldogs. Kirby Smart was not only able to land an elite in-state prospect -- but also one at a big position of need.
