Four-star tackle Price decommits from Georgia

Just one day after losing juco-transfer offensive lineman DeVondre Seymour, who decided he would no longer be playing football, Georgia got some more bad O-line news Thursday when four-star tackle E.J. Price announced that he was decommitting from the Bulldogs' 2016 recruiting class.

Price, out of Archer High in Lawrenceville, GA, is the ninth-ranked tackle and 54th-ranked player overall in 247 Sports' recruiting rankings. He said via Twitter that he believes he made his commitment decision prematurely and wants to re-evaluate his options.

"This was a very difficult decision, but after talking with my family, I have decided to reopen my recruitment," Price posted on Twitter. "I have great respect for Coach Richt and his staff, and this decision was not because of any problems with UGA. I'm just simply evaluating all of my options.

"Me and my family feel my decision was premature, and when I make my college decision my parents will be with me. I was recovering from surgery when I committed and didn't think completely through my decision. I will not be doing any interviews or taking any calls from recruiting sites. This is not an easy decision and I will like to enjoy this process with my family."

Prior to his commitment to Georgia in April, Price had named Michigan his leader and had visited Auburn six times; it is believed that those two programs will again be in contention for his services now that he has reopened his recruitment.
