Depth chart changes, injury news for Mizzou

Published Sep. 28, 2015 10:55 p.m. ET

Head coach Gary Pinkel divulged a considerable amount of news when it came to his depth chart, as well as offering some injury updates.

DeSean Blair, Sean Culkin and Nate Crawford are all out for this weekend's game at home versus South Carolina. Blair is battling a concussion, Culkin a knee injury and Crawford is sidelined with an ankle problem.

The injury shuffle has a big impact on how the offensive line will look. With Crawford out, Taylor Chappell has transitioned from left guard to Crawford's spot at right tackle. Chappell started the season initially as a reserve, but has since been inserted into the starting lineup out of sheer necessity. Senior Brad McNulty is listed as a co-starter at the newly-vacant left guard spot, along with first-week starter Alec Abeln.

Perhaps the biggest bit of news revolves around Russell Hansbrough and Kentrell Brothers.

Hansbrough played sparingly against Kentucky, registering only 11 yards on six carries. He's not fully back from an ankle injury, but Hansbrough appears on the road to recovery.

Brothers is officially listed as "questionable" for this weekend's game. Leading the nation with 52 combined tackles, he's the true heart and soul of the defense. While Missouri does have some talent behind him, there's no question his potential absence would be felt to a large degree.
