College football week six is upon us. We take a look at the top five bets to make in this young season.
The fifth week of the football season saw a couple of changes in the top 10 rankings.
Clemson outlasted Louisville in a top five matchup. Washington destroyed Stanford in a top 10 matchup.
We finally had our first big winning week of the college football season at 3-1-1.
Recap
-We took Clemson at +2.5 and the Tigers won outright over the Louisville Cardinals. Clemson actually opened at -3 point favorites, but people were all over the Lamar Jackson hype train and swung the line five points the other way. Clemson had the better defense and quarterback. Win
-We took Oklahoma State at -2.5 to beat Texas and it wasn’t even close. The Cowboys whipped the Longhorns to keep our rule of betting against the ranked team when they are underdogs (Texas was ranked No. 22) at the time. Win
-We took the OVER 52 in the Miami vs. Georgia Tech game and it landed at 54. A solid bet considering it hit and Miami’s offense only scored two touchdowns. However, it was helped by the Miami defense scoring two touchdowns of their own. Win
-Ugh. ECU burns us for the second week in a row. We took them as -4 favorites and they got blasted by Central Florida at home no less. However, not many teams out there can overcome FIVE turnovers. Crazy part is ECU had 521 yards of offense compared to 373 for UCF. Loss
-We took the UNDER 49 in the NC State vs. Wake Forest game. It was a solid bet. NC State completed a third down pass for a touchdown with five minutes left in the game during garbage time. Push
We’re 10-13-2 on the season. Let’s get into our top five bets and keep the positive momentum going for us.

Notre Dame vs. NC State OVER 64.5
Time: 12:00 p.m.
How to watch: ABC
Where: Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC
A game between the No. 13 and No. 14 ranked S&P + offenses in the nation. Yes, please. Not to mention that Notre Dame’s defense has been a sieve all season. It got to bad that Brian Kelly had to fire his defensive coordinator after just a few games.
NC State has the No. 62 ranked S&P+ defense and Notre Dame has the No. 84 S&P+ defense. Could definitely see a 38-31 game.

Virginia Tech +3 at UNC
Time: 3:30 p.m.
How to watch: ACC Digital Network
Where: Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC
UNC is coming off back-to-back dramatic last second wins. Their luck has to run out at some point and their defense is terrible.
UNC’s offense is good, but Virginia Tech’s defense is ranked No. 7 by S&P+ metrics. Virginia Tech’s offense is No. 73 and UNC’s defense is ranked No. 101.
I’ll take the points with the better defense and an offense that’s averaging just as many points as UNC.

FSU vs. Miami (Miami First Half -1.5)
Time: 8:00 p.m.
How to watch: ABC
Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, FL
Not going to spend a lot of time on this. FSU gets off to slow starts EVERY single game. This one should be no different as their defense is awful.

Maryland -1.5 vs. Penn State
Time: 12:00 p.m.
How to watch: Big Ten Network
Where: Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA
Maryland is a rushing team, averaging 300 yards on the ground. Penn State isn’t very good against the run. Penn State’s offensive strength is passing and that’s Maryland’s biggest strength on defense.
Taking Maryland is basically a pick’em game.

Cincinnati -3 vs. UCONN
Time: 11:30 a.m.
How to watch: CBSSN
Where: Rentschler Field, East Hartford, CT
Ugly game here and both teams lost to Houston earlier in the season by about the same margin. However, Cincinnati was actually winning the game early in the fourth quarter until Houston ran two interceptions back for pick sixes.
Give me the better offense in this one.
