Clemson QB Deshaun Watson voted ACC player of year by ACSMA

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson is the Atlantic Coast Conference's player of the year.

The Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association on Wednesday also announced that Duke safety Jeremy Cash was voted the defensive player of the year while Watson also was picked as the top offensive player.

Watson received 39 of 50 votes for the overall award to nine for Florida State running back Dalvin Cook.

Watson averages a league-best 331.6 total yards for the top-ranked Tigers (12-0, 8-0), who play No. 8 North Carolina on Saturday night in the ACC championship game.

He leads the league in three other stat categories with 3,223 yards passing, 27 touchdown passes and a 161.9 passer rating.
