College football coaches generally don't get to see much of their players once the spring semester ends.
Oh, sure, any number of them may be on campus to make up courses from the previous semester or to rack up more credits toward graduation. But there's not much that can be done in the way of football-related activities beyond a little bit of time in the meeting room.
So, what's a coach to do? If you're Nick Saban, the super-successful boss at Alabama, you spend more time getting to know your players in a relaxed setting ... assuming getting towed behind a boat moving faster than Chris Davis after a missed field goal (sorry, Tide fans) is your idea of relaxation.
