Casey's 4 TDs spark Lehigh's 45-31 win over Colgate

BETHLEHEIM, Pa. (AP) Gatlin Casey had three touchdown receptions and returned a kickoff 93 yards for another score to lead Lehigh to a 45-31 win over Colgate on Saturday in the Patriot League opener.

Nick Shafnisky completed 27 of 40 passes for 394 yards, his third-straight game with at least 300 yards, and a career-high five touchdowns.

Casey had 11 catches for 196 yards, his third-straight 100 yard game, with his touchdowns covering 33, 19 and 58 yards. Troy Pelletier had his fifth straight 100-yard game with six receptions for 102 yards and a 31-yard TD reception for the Mountain Hawks (4-2).

Jake Melville threw for 180 yards and ran for 151 with a 75-yard touchdown for Colgate (1-4). Keyon Washington added 101 yards and a touchdown.

After Washington's 14-yard TD run late in the third quarter made it 31-24, Casey answered with his kickoff return. Shafnisky hit Dominick Bragalone for a 25-yard score in the fourth quarter.

Lehigh kicker Ed Mish surpassed 100 points for his career.
