Bucknell charges back in 2nd half to beat Holy Cross 21-20

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) Joey DeFloria ran for 149 yards on 28 carries with a touchdown, Chad Freshnock ran in the game winning score from 9-yards out late in the fourth, and Bucknell beat Holy Cross 21-20 on Saturday.

The win snaps a three game losing streak for the Bison (2-3, 1-0 Patriot League).

Matt Muh threw 202 yards for Bucknell, which outgained Holy Cross by more than 200 yards (363-162).

The Crusaders held a 20-7 lead late into the third quarter on the strength of a Brendan Flaherty 24-yard wide receiver pass for a TD to Jake Wieczorek and two Zane Wasp field goals.

Wieczorek led Holy Cross (2-4, 1-1) with 61 yards receiving and two scores.

Freshnock trimmed the Crusaders lead to 20-14 with 1:51 left in the third on a 3-yard scoring run, setting up the Bison 4-play, 71-yard fourth quarter drive to win it.
