Buchanan Award winner Jackson is a Jaguar

(STATS) - Jacksonville State's Darius Jackson, the 2017 STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award winner, agreed to a rookie free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars shortly after the NFL Draft Saturday night.
The 6-3, 242-pound Jackson, who mostly played defensive end at Jacksonville State, could transition to outside linebacker with the Jaguars. He totaled 20 ½ tackles for loss, seven sacks and 23 quarterback hurries in being named the national defensive player of the year.
Jackson set the Gamecocks' career records with 60½ tackles for loss and 27½ sacks. His senior class didn't lose in the Ohio Valley Conference the last four years.
