Big 12 Reporter: Strong's recruiting strategy 'backfired'

With the news that linebacker Cecil Cherry could be leaving the program, the Florida Five is close to becoming the Florida One. Tight end Devonaire Clarington is waiting on NCAA clearance, receiver Gilbert Johnson failed to qualify, and cornerback Tim Irvin flipped and enrolled at Auburn just weeks after committing to the Longhorns.

That leaves just Davante Davis on the team, and ESPN’s Jake Trotter believes this is evidence of a failed strategy by Strong.
