Stan Okoye scored 26 points to lead Virginia Military Institute to a 106-65 season-opening victory over Randolph College on Friday night.
Rodney Glasgow and Keith Gabriel added 17 points apiece, Nick Gore 16 and Stephen Sargent 15 for the Keydets, who have led the nation in scoring for the past four seasons.
Okoye made 12 of 17 shots from the field for VMI, which shot 48.8 percent (42 of 86), taking 32 more shots than the Division III WildCats (17 of 54, 31.5 percent).
After Randolph scored the first point of the game, VMI never trailed again. The Keydets led 39-27 at the half and scored 67 points in the second half.
VMI took advantage of 27 turnovers by the WildCats, scoring 36 points off turnovers.
Pete Hamilton and Dylan Shiflett scored 12 points apiece to lead the WildCats, for whom the game counted as an exhibition.
