Bradford Burgess had 24 points and eight rebounds to lead Virginia Commonwealth to a 78-65 victory over New Hampshire on Thursday night.

Brandon Rozzell hit six 3-pointers and added 23 points as the Rams (9-4) won the Richmond Marriott Holidays on the Hardwood Classic.

The Rams took an 18-9 lead on Jamie Skeen's 3-pointer with 11:08 to play in the first half. New Hampshire (6-6) cut the margin to 31-24 with 4:06 remaining, but Rozzell and Burgess combined to score the next 12 points in a 12-2 run that gave the Rams a 43-26 halftime advantage.

Rozzell hit four of his 3-pointers in the second half to help Virginia Commonwealth maintain its lead.

Skeen finished with 18 points and the Rams shot 37.9 percent from beyond the arc (11 of 29).

Chandler Rhoads led New Hampshire with 15 points. Ferg Myrick and DeAndray Buckley scored 11 each and Tyrone Conley added 10 points.
