Jesse Morgan scored 14 points to lead a balanced scoring attack in Massachusetts' 73-65 victory over Davidson Thursday night.

Morgan led five Minutemen in double figures as UMass (10-3) overcame a 35-29 halftime deficit with sizzling second-half shooting. Davidson, which upset Kansas 80-74 on Monday, got 22 points from De'Mon Brooks on 9-of-15 shooting. He also grabbed eight rebounds. But the Wildcats were as cold in the second half as UMass was in the first.

After hitting 42.9 percent of its shots (12 for 28) in the first half, Davidson went 11 for 31 (35.5 percent) in the second. That was the percentage UMass hit in the first half. But the Minutemen shot a torrid 51.9 percent (14 of 27) in the second half, including 5 of 7 on 3-pointers.

Maxie Esho scored 12 points. Raphiael Putney, Chaz Williams and Javorn Farrell had 10 apiece.
