St. Bonaventure beats Central Michigan 102-71

CEDAR PARK, Texas (AP) Matt Mobley scored 28 points, Jaylen Adams added 17 with nine assists and St. Bonaventure ran away from Central Michigan 102-71 Tuesday in the second round of Lone Star Showcase.

The Bonnies topped the 100-point plateau for the first time since a 100-97 overtime win at Duquesne on Jan. 22, 2015.

Leading 53-37 at halftime, Adams hit a 3-pointer, Denzel Gregg dunked and the Bonnies opened the second half with a 12-3 run and led by 30 points with 14:33 left.

Gregg scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second career double-double, Idris Taqqee scored 15 and Josh Ayeni had 10 points. The Bonnies (2-2) shot 50 percent from the field and made 25 of 35 free throws (71 percent).

Marcus Keene, who came averaging 30.3 points, tied for most in Division I, scored 23 for the Chippewas (4-1), who close the tournament Wednesday against Arkansas-Little Rock.

St. Bonaventure takes on Pepperdine Wednesday.
