St. Bonaventure 81, Canisius 62

Chris Johnson scored 19 points and Andrew Nicholson added a double-double to lead St. Bonaventure over Canisius 81-62 on Saturday night.
Nine players scored for the Bonnies (4-4), who surpassed the 70-point plateau for just the second time this season. St. Bonaventure, which averaged 61.7 points per game coming in, shot 46.3 percent from the field (25 of 54) led by Johnson, who was 5 of 9, and Nicholson, who was 4 of 6.
Nicholson finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, helping the Bonnies win the battle of the boards 40-29.
Matthew Wright added 16 points and Da'Quan Cook 10 for the Bonnies.
Canisius (1-7), which lost its sixth straight, was led by Harold Washington with 19 points. Alshwan Hymes added 17 points and Reggie Groves 11 for the Golden Griffins, who had just eight assists and 14 turnovers.
