LOS ANGELES (AP) — Marcus Graves scored 19, Ethan Esposito had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Sacramento State beat CSU Northridge 88-68 on Saturday night.

The Hornets (4-1) achieved their largest margin of victory over the Matadors (1-5) in the all-time series. The teams have played 38 times since 1960.

Sacramento State trailed by nine early in the first half but erased the deficit at 15-all and pulled away with a 16-4 run that stretched into the second half. During that span, Graves' 3-point play with 2:50 left in the first half made it 39-29, and the Hornets led by double digits the rest of the way.

Joshua Patton had 15 points and nine rebounds and Bryce Fowler added 14 points with three 3-pointers for Sacramento State, which matched its best start in program history.
