Jared Stohl had six 3-pointers and 26 points to lead Portland to a 75-63 over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday night.

The Pilots (5-2), who also got 12 points and 13 rebounds from Luke Sikma, won despite hitting 43 percent of their field-goal attempts, but they made 12 of 24 3-pointers.

The Gauchos (2-3) were led by James Nunnally with 22 points and Orlando Johnson with 18.

The Pilots, who never trailed, set the tone with a 20-4 burst to start the game. That lead eventually grew to 37-15 by intermission, even though Portland hit just 40 percent of its first-half shots. The Gauchos hurt their chances by committing 16 turnovers in the first half.

Portland had its biggest lead of the game at 46-21 on an inside basket by Jasonn Hannibal, who scored just four points.

Santa Barbara made it interesting, scoring 13 unanswered points to trim Portland's lead to 56-46 with 6:49 left. But Portland responded with an 11-5 run to regain control. The closest Santa Barbara got after that was the final score.

Nemanja Mitrovic and Eric Waterford each added 11 points for Portland.
