OSU's Tate: 'I did not hurt my shoulder from slapping the floor'

Ohio State forward Jae’Sean Tate says he did not hurt his shoulder during his notorious floor-slapping incident vs. Nebraska Saturday.

On Tuesday, the Buckeyes announced Tate would have surgery on his left shoulder, forcing him to miss the rest of the season. According to a report from the Columbus Dispatch, Tate’s father said the sophomore has been dealing with a shoulder injury for a while. The Dispatch also reported that Tate was taken out of the game in "obvious pain" after making a left-handed pass in the first half vs. the Cornhuskers and appeared to aggravate the injury when he pounded the hardwood late in the second:

Tate averaged 29 minutes, 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds for Ohio State in 2015-16.
