With fans clapping in unison like the team featured in the movie ''Hoosiers,'' No. 17 Butler hung the first Final Four banner in school history before the tipoff of Saturday's season-opener.
After introducing Marian's starting lineup, the Bulldogs had a five-minute presentation to celebrate last season's run to the national championship game. Butler lost to Duke in the title game.
The celebration included radio calls from Butler's NCAA tourney upsets over Syracuse, Kansas State and Michigan State and the applause steadily increased with each call.
The ceremony culminated with a school official yanking a blue cover off the banner to reveal the words ''National Finalist.''
