GRAMBLING, La. (AP) Marcus Romain scored 19 points and had nine rebounds to lead Mississippi Valley State to the season sweep over Grambling State 58-57 on Monday night.

Mississippi Valley State (6-25, 6-11 SWAC) led 57-47 after a Romain layup with 1:31 left. However Grambling State scored the next eight points, six coming from Arnold Richmond, which trimmed the Delta Devils lead to 57-55 with 22 seconds remaining.

Isaac Williams added a free throw for a 58-55 Mississippi Valley State lead, and Rashaan Surles fouled Richmond before he could attempt a potential game tying 3-pointer. He hit both free throws, but the Tigers (6-22, 3-13) never got the ball back.

Williams had 12 points for the Delta Devils, who snapped a five game skid.
