Maryland freshman sends defender sprawling, hits three-pointer

Things couldn't be going a whole lot better for the Maryland Terrapins in their first Big Ten season. With a 75-59 victory over Michigan State on Saturday, the No. 14 Terps moved to 17-2 and 5-1 in conference to sit alone in first place.

Freshman guard Melo Trimble led the way with 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including 6 of 11 on 3-pointers.

And if they gave style points in basketball, one of those threes might have been worth at least four. Trimble pulled an ankle-breaking move on the Spartans' Lourawls Nairn Jr., sending him staggering backward with a sweet crossover.

"I got freed up and shot the ball," Trimble said.
