Devin Brown made two free throws with 1.6 seconds left and Holy Cross defeated Colgate 77-75 Wednesday night.

The free throws kept a game that the Crusaders led by 12 points late in the second half from going to overtime.

Brown and Andrew Keister each scored 16 points, and Keister got his sixth consecutive double-double with 12 rebounds.

Holy Cross (7-20, 6-7 Patriot League) led 68-56 with 4:26 to play before Mitch Rolls hit a 3-pointer and Nick Pascale and Yaw Gyawu completed three-point plays. That helped pull the Raiders (7-21, 4-9) to within 70-67 with 1:43 left.

Colgate tied it at 75 on Mike Venezia's 3-pointer with 6 seconds left. But Colgate's Joe Hoban fouled out when he bumped Brown, who was driving the length of the floor, with 1.6 second left, and Brown converted the free throws for the victory.

Gyawu had 15 to lead Colgate.
