Harry Giles joins Duke's monster recruiting class
Harry Giles, arguably the top player in the Class of 2016, announced his commitment to Duke on Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-10 power forward picked the Blue Devils over North Carolina, Kansas and Wake Forest, saying he "just felt most comfortable" meeting with Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski.
The announcement comes a day after it was confirmed that the 6-foot-10 power forward had suffered a torn ACL. It's the second knee injury of his career; Giles tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus after his freshman season.
Prior to the injury, Giles put together a dominating summer, including a gold-medal win with Team USA in the FIBA U19 World Championships in Greece and all-tournament team honors. Giles then led his AAU team, CP3, to the Nike EYBL Peach Jam semifinals, averaging 18.2 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
Winston-Salem, North Carolina, native Giles, who transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia this season, joins a Blue Devils recruiting class that rivals the one Coach K won his fifth national title with, including close friend Jayson Tatum, combo guard Frank Jackson and Javin DeLaurier.

Tatum and Giles, who developed their friendship with USA Basketball, are projected as the top two picks in DraftExpress.com's 2017 NBA mock draft.
