Gilder-Tilbury has career night, Texas St. beats Troy 78-57

SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) Kavin Gilder-Tilbury scored a career-high 26 points with a half-dozen 3-pointers and Texas State defeated Troy 78-57 Thursday night for coach Danny Kaspar's 500th win.

Texas State grabbed a 7-0 lead on a Gilder-Tilbury 3-pointer and never looked back. Emani Grant scored on a putback and a layup to stake the Bobcats to a 10-point lead, 39-29 two minutes after halftime. Gilder-Tilbury's six 3-pointers were also a career best.

Ethan Montalvo scored 15 points for Texas State (13-15, 7-12 Sun Belt), Cameron Naylor added 14 and Ojai Black dished out a career-high 11 assists, most by a Bobcat since Jan. 19, 2011 at Sam Houston State.

John Walton III scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Troy (9-21, 4-15). Wesley Person added 11 points and two 3-pointers, extending his streak of games with a trey to 59 straight, longest active streak in the nation.
