Fox with 18 as UC Davis beats Cal Poly 66-52

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) Josh Fox scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as UC Davis beat Cal Poly 66-52 on Saturday night.

Neal Monson added 20 points and four rebounds and Brynton Lemar had 15 points and five rebounds for the Aggies (9-11, 4-3 Big West Conference) who held a 35-26 rebounding edge over Cal Poly.

A Fox 3-point play early in the first half capped a 14-7 start for the Aggies on their way to a 31-28 lead at the break.

Cal Poly trailed throughout the second half but drew to within four, 56-52, on a layup by Jaylen Shead with 3:58 to play. It was the final score for the Mustangs (8-12, 2-5) as Fox drained one more jumper and Lemar, Monson and Fox combined for eight free throws in the final 3:33 to close out the scoring for UC Davis.

David Nwaba scored 15 points with six rebounds for Cal Poly.
