Sherwood Brown scored 20 points and Florida Gulf Coast held off East Tennessee State 72-63 on Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak.

The Eagles (3-5, 1-0 Atlantic Sun Conference) opened up a 12-point lead with 13:12 to play, then saw it dwindle to two as the Buccaneers changed from zone to man-to-man defense.

ETSU (3-4, 0-2) used an 18-8 run to make it 59-57 with 5:16 left, but Florida Gulf Coast outscored the Buccaneers 13-6 the rest of the way.

Chase Fieler scored 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting for the Eagles, who shot 54 percent from the field (27 of 50), compared to 34.9 percent for the Buccaneers (22 of 63).

Adam Sollazzo scored 17 points and Tommy Hubbard had 15 points and 11 rebounds for ETSU, which held a 40-28 rebounding advantage.

The Buccaneers are 0-2 in the conference for the first time since 2005.
