Campbell leads Ohio to 72-61 win over Kent State

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) Antonio Campbell scored 22 of his 28 points in the second half and Ohio snapped Kent State's five-game winning streak with a 72-61 win on Friday night.

Kenny Kaminski added 12 points for the Bobcats (13-7, 4-4 Mid-American), who lost the first meeting 89-82.

Ohio had an early 11-point lead and was up 30-23 at the half. The Golden Flashes closed within 34-33 on a Kellon Thomas 3-pointer with 17:33 to play but a Wadly Mompremier dunk and Jaaron Simmons layup pushed the lead to 12 at 10:41. Kent State cut it to five before Treg Setty scored seven straight for the Bobcats and the lead was back to 10 with 4:38 remaining.

Ohio was 9 of 11 from the foul line in the second half. Campbell had seven rebounds and Simmons eight assists.

Jimmy Hall led Kent State (15-6, 6-2) with 23 points and 13 rebounds and Deon Edwin had 11 points.
