Trey Freeman scored 21 points and Campbell set a Gore Arena record by making 36 free throws in a 91-78 victory over Newberry on Thursday night.
The Camels (2-6), playing without leading scorer Darren White, who injured a hand during practice, made 21 of 26 free throws in the second half and had 44 chances at the line overall.
Newberry, a Division II program that counted the game as an exhibition, made 22 of 37 free throws, as three players for the Wolves and two for the Camels fouled out.
Campbell led from the start, but its lead never reached double figures until two free throws by D.J. Mason made it 55-45 with 13:14 remaining.
Darian Hooker had 18 points, Reco McCarter 17 and Mason 12 for the Camels, and Marvelle Harris grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds.
Mitch Riggs led the Wolves with 18 points.
