Peter Sullivan scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Brown to an 81-67 win over winless Sacred Heart on Saturday night.
Sullivan, who also dished out five assists, was 6 for 8 from the floor and made all of his 12 free-throw attempts for the Bears (2-1). Tucker Halpern had 13 points and Adrian Williams added 12.
Two free throws by Sacred Heart's Shane Gibson cut Brown's lead to 42-40 with 17:48 left. But the Pioneers (0-4) would get no closer as the Bears answered with seven straight points, capped by Halpern's two free throws to push the score to 49-40.
Brown, which shot 63 percent (24 for 38) from the floor, took an 18-point lead - its largest of the game - on Halpern's layup with 5:10 left.
Gibson led Sacred Heart with 17 points, Femi Akinpetide had 14 points and Chris Evans added 11.
